On July 2, 2015, Alere signed an agreement to sell its BBI business to Exponent Personal Equity LLP, a UK-based private equity firm, for a complete purchase price of approximately $164 million, based on forex rates on that day, including up to $47 million in contingent factor Diagnosis . The ultimate purchase price is at the mercy of an operating capital adjustment. BBI Group provides services and products for the diagnostic, healthcare, research, food and defense industries globally.
